RideCarpooling.com Now Covers Mexico: New Routes from Monterrey to Mexico City

Today marks a major milestone for RideCarpooling.com: we're officially expanding our carpooling network into Mexico. Starting immediately, drivers and passengers can post and book rides on 15 new routes connecting Mexico's major cities — with more routes being added every week.

Why Mexico?

Mexico has one of the most active intercity travel cultures in North America. With over 130 million people and major population centres spread across a vast geography, the demand for affordable, reliable intercity transportation is enormous. Existing options — buses, flights, and solo driving — are either slow, expensive, or both.

Carpooling fills a critical gap. Our research showed that over 2 million Mexicans make the Mexico City–Guadalajara journey every month, and the majority are looking for a more affordable and comfortable alternative to the bus.

Safety & Verification in Mexico

All drivers on our Mexico platform go through the same rigorous verification process as our Canadian and US drivers: government ID verification, vehicle photo review, and a background check. We've partnered with local verification providers to ensure the process meets Mexican regulatory standards.

What's Next

Over the next six months, we'll be adding 30+ additional routes across Mexico, launching Spanish-language customer support, and introducing local payment methods including OXXO Pay and SPEI bank transfers. We're also working with Mexican universities to launch a student carpooling program in early 2026.
